and I don’t apologize to anybody for hunting and fishing.”

  • Prepare a small backpack or tote and waterproof bags (Ziploc freezer bags work well) for wallets, phones, cameras, etc.

Check out our weather prediction page to see how your charter is shaping up. Captain Joe will normally make the determination 12 hours before the scheduled charter. The two primary factors are wind and swell. High winds (>20 knots) will normally cancel a charter.

  • Take your seasickness medicine at breakfast.
  • Dress appropriately for the day's weather forecast. Apparel: Long sleeve UPF (ultraviolet protection factor) clothing is recommended, boat or tennis shoes (no dark-soled shoes please), wide-brimmed hat, and appropriate weather related gear.
  • Apply sunblock, remember only non-aerosol sunscreens are allowed on-board.
  • Gather your things and head for Bluepoints Marina, try to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your charter
  • Meet Captain Joe at the boat dock. This is the opportune time to settle the balance of the charter fee. Please don't board the boat until you talk to Captain Joe or his First Mate
  • Go through the Captain's safety procedures. Request a personal flotation device (self-inflating life jacket) if you would like one.

After a day of fishing

When we return the Captain and Mate will take any photo's you request and clean and portion the day's catch. Consider taking your catch to one of the Port's restaurants and have them cook it to your specifications.

If you had a good day, consider tipping the crew, who normally work for tips alone (customarily 15%). They work hard long before and after the fishing and tips are truly appreciated.
